I ordered this for my husband for Christmas, and let him open it a week or so early. He has used it almost every day since opening it. He just loves it.

When he said he wanted a panini press, I asked him which one (I didn't know much about them), and he said it just needed to meet 3 criteria...
1. Adjustable temperature control. This does, so you can choose what temperature you want to cook at. It also has a green light that comes on when it's up to temperature.
2. A floating lid. That way no matter the size of sandwich, burger, whatever, the lid would lie flat and cook the top nicely as well.
3. Grill plates that were NOT removeable. He had heard stories of heating issues with removeable grill plates, and wanted to avoid that. The plates on this one are NOT removeable, but clean up just fine.

This wasn't the most expensive or the cheapest, it met the criteria. It has a decent heft to it (doesn't feel cheap or flimsy)

Like I said, he loves it. He's gotten a LOT of use out of it already. We highly recommend this panini press.

The only improvement that he would like is an on/off switch... instead of plugging it in and it starting to heat up. BUT that's not a real big issue.

I did considerable research before I purchased this grill and I'm very pleased with the results. The grilling surface, while not huge, is quite large enough for a couple of good-sized steaks or several hamburgers or chicken pieces. It heats up quickly and cooks evenly and efficiently and I've found clean-up to be a breeze. At first I dismissed the little plastic spatulas as silly and useless but I found that they're the perfect size and shape for gently scraping the plates to loosen any food residue before swiping them with a damp paper towel or sponge.

This is one product that works as advertised and I highly recommend it.

I ordered this to replace an older George Foreman grill. I could not be happier with this product. This is so much more than just a great panini press. I have used it to grill chicken breasts, pprk chops, burgers, et.. This is a great alternative to using my outdoor grill during the winter months. This is one of those products you don't think you'll use much, but after using it, you wonder how you got along without it. I got mine from my daughter for Father's Day. I use it almost everyday. It is so quick and easy to grill items in 20 minutes total time, which includes prep, cooking and clean-up. What makes it so easy to clean are the removable plates. I love it so much that I tell everyone about it. And I have since bought my daughter one and also one for a fellow worker. The one for my co-worker I ordered about 8 am and he recieved it the next morning at 10:15 am. Now that is service.
